For the two parts of ÂME, Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer, their dual counterparts are identified as part of their artistry: Frank the composer or creative engine behind the live act and Kristian, the explorer as DJ – each of his marathon sets a voyage and vision. Together their output is a synthesis in melodies, rhythms and arrangements that only an honest, working kinship can cultivate. Their label Innervisions is metamorphic of their expression and powers combined.
When it comes to his music, Mano is focused. And while his initial records presented quality bits of melody-driven and disco flecked house, Mano really began to turn heads once he began to incorporate his own voice into the mix.
Amidst all of his activity as a DJ, Mano has also been busy cultivating a label of his own, Maeve. Launched in 2012 with the help of good friends The Drifter and Baikal, Maeve has already established itself as a reliable home for thoughtful, melodic dance music. The last few years have seen him make the proverbial “leap” and become a staple of the international DJ circuit and with his undying commitment to his craft and belters like „An Hour In The Morning“, it doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
His latest release with Innervisions, „Broad Horizons“ not only showcases his connection with house music, it also hints at his love of dub and reggae. This open minded approach to music is what makes Marcus Worgull succeed as a DJ who can perfectly read his audience, without losing his instinct for deep haunting grooves that feed his soul.
Perel drifted into the orbit of the heads of DFA Records, who released her debut solo album Hermetica in the spring of 2018 and signed her as their first german artist. Her sound has a natural kinship with DFA: cosmic disco basslines undulate as thumping techno synths drive home the message of her hooks and refrains, ghostly vocalisations that speak of romance, dread and power. All told, Perel’s music is deeply evocative – the kind of timeless sound you want to slide into the tape deck of a drop-top, letting the pulse of her noir beats accompany you haring down the Autobahn, as the sun sets over the horizon.
